Microsoft: Windows 8 App Store 'Largest Developer Opportunity Ever'
Microsoft plans to launch its Windows 8 app store in late February, the same time it begins its beta. Calling the store, "the largest developer opportunity ever,” the company also will allow successful developers a greater share of the wealth. Rather than sharing a standard 70 percent of revenue on Windows 8 apps, once developers reach $25,000 in total revenue, their share will be bumped up to 80 percent for the life of the app. Only free apps will be available in the store during the beta.
