Job Description
We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Developer to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of enterprise applications built on the PowerBuilder platform.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in PowerBuilder development, SQL databases, application troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production support. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, QA teams, and technical teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using PowerBuilder.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Perform application debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Provide production support and resolve application issues within defined SLA timelines.
Support application deployments and troubleshoot post-deployment issues.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, QA teams, and other technical teams.
Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards and best practices.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design documents, and deployment guides.
Support application upgrades, migration, and modernization initiatives.
Estimate development, enhancement, and maintenance efforts.
Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5–8 years of relevant experience in application development, preferably with substantial hands-on PowerBuilder experience.
Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining PowerBuilder applications.
Good understanding of SQL databases, SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
Experience with application debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Experience providing production support and resolving application issues within SLA timelines.
Knowledge of software development standards, code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
Experience preparing technical documentation and supporting application upgrades or modernization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with business users, QA teams, project managers, and technical stakeholders.
Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Los Angeles, California.
