Job Description
Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) Project Manager Level 1 Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is hiring a Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) Project Manager to work in our MFC Projects division. Our team works a 4x10 schedule with every Friday off. If you want to be part of enabling nuclear energy research and development, including deployment of next generation nuclear reactors then this position is for you. Responsibilities Include: INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for the United States Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel development and fabrication, and post irradiation analysis. MFC plays an important role in supporting the National Reactor Innovation Center, which provides resources for testing, demonstration, and performance assessment to accelerate the deployment of new, advanced nuclear technology concepts. MFC Project Manager responsibilities include managing small projects and scope for large projects. Project managers are responsible for managing and administering a wide variety of small to medium-sized projects from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, execution, start-up, turnover, and operations, as applicable. Other important functions of the role are:
- Responsible for technical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and industry processes including their interfaces and interdependencies.
- Utilize the use of construction, operations, R&D, and business systems throughout the project to assure project scope is accomplished, schedules are met, and work is completed within budget and schedule.
- Establish and maintain liaison with the customer throughout the entire project to resolve problems and coordinate service.
- Lead assigned small projects in planning and establishing schedules, forecasts, budgets, parameters, etc., and monitor progress to assure schedules are met and work is performed within budget and schedule.
- Manage projects to ensure that they are completed, within budget and schedule, and that all work is performed in a safe manner.
- Ensure that the technical and functional requirements are met.
- Develop teams to complete projects.
- Level 1 - Applicable Bachelor's Degree plus 0-2 years professional experience or Advanced Degree and 0 Years professional experience.
- Skill in applying team building concepts.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or be able to obtain when PMI experience criteria is met.
- Professional experience in engineering, construction, nuclear, or fabrication.
- The pay range for this position is $63,528 - $130,284. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
