We now have an opening for a Oracle Database Administrator to manage and optimize our mission-critical Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments, including Oracle RAC and AWS RDS PostgreSQL. This role will play a key part in ensuring database integrity, performance, security, and availability across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Job Description:
We are hiring an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to work for us as our direct, W2 salaried or hourly employee to join our team. You will:
- Administer and maintain Oracle databases, including Oracle RAC, and PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS RDS.
- Monitor database health and performance using AWS CloudWatch and manage audit logs with AWS CloudTrail.
- Implement and support cloud infrastructure concepts including scalability, elasticity, cost optimization, and disaster recovery.
- Support the application system development life cycle methodologies
- Use CloudFormation templates to define and manage infrastructure as code for database environments.
- Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Define and enforce database standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
- Configure RDS for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery using multi-AZ deployments and backups.
- Performing database performance tuning and monitoring.
- Scheduling and monitoring data warehousing processes.
- Participating in software release management processes.
- Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Diagnosing and resolving database errors and performance issues using logs, metrics, and AWS
- Applying logical data modeling
- Authoring shell scripts to perform backup, restore, and monitoring
- Designing, installing, and converting databases.
- Ensuring database backup and recovery procedures, access security, database integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Database Administration.
- Deep knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Oracle RAC.
- Experience with Docker, AIX, MS SQL Server, and additional AWS database services.
- Proficient in scripting languages including Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning, monitoring, and recovery.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Certifications in Oracle and/or PostgreSQL administration.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud-based database services (e.g., Aurora, Redshift) is a big plus.
