Job Description

Job Description

Levatas AI enables mobile robots, autonomous drones and unmanned submersibles to understand what they're seeing in our customer's dynamic, real-world environments, alerting human co-workers to potential safety, security, and maintenance anomalies. These automated inspections solutions keep humans out of harm's way, enhance system reliability, reduce operating costs and increase asset performance.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a full-time, temporary-to-permanent Data / ML Ops Engineer (Level 1) with 2 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data engineering, particularly in the field of computer vision. While experience in computer vision and machine learning is not required, an interest in these areas will be advantageous, as you will collaborate with teams working on cutting-edge AI solutions.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in West Palm Beach, Florida, with flexibility for periodic work-from-home days.

Levatas offers competitive benefits, including 401k matching, a 50% share of medical plans, a flexible work schedule, and unlimited paid time off after 2 years of employment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, maintain, and optimize data processing pipelines to train and execute computer vision (AI) models.
  2. Curate datasets from various online sources for use, merge datasets together, and run various kinds of reports/analysis/verification on these datasets to ensure the data is correct, unique, and representative of what our goals and objectives are.
  3. Build processes to connect multiple computer vision (AI) models together. Take model outputs from one model, augment/prepare the data for the next model, and build another pipeline to run the next model.
  4. Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement efficient data pipelines.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data processing solutions into our AI-driven products.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent self-guided certifications in the areas of Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, and/or a related field.
  2. 2+ years of experience in data processing, augmentation, and custom algorithm development, data engineering, or a related role.
  3. Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  4. Experience with scripting languages like Python for automation and data manipulation.
  5. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience working with large-scale data sets.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention to detail.
  7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with computer vision (AI) model development
  2. Experience with COCO JSON data format, PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.
  3. Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
  4. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
  5. Experience in data quality and data governance practices.
  6. Interest in or basic knowledge of machine learning and computer vision.

Levatas offers great benefits with 401k matching, 50% share of medical plans, flexible work schedule, unlimited paid-time-off after 2 years of employment, and a strong company culture.
