Direct Hire with a Global premier industrial supplies and equipment provider company
Candidates can be remote but Chicago preferred

They should know the out-of-the-box EWM capabilities and understand the capabilities of S4 to help with adoption. Additionally, the candidate should be able to speak about technology beyond SAP and operate outside of the SAP space to design an end-to-end system.
- Candidates are falling short they are either a sap specialist without broad technology knowledge or a technology specialist who does not understand SAP and business process. 90% of candidates have struggled to answer questions outside of SAP
- Need knowledge of SAP business technology platform concepts, especially related to Hana, such as CDS and new capabilities
- Candidates should be a continuous learner

This is a senior technical leader position that will work in tandem with our Warehouse OT Architect, engineering teams, and senior business leaders to sets the technology direction within client's North American Supply Chain. The candidate should have: Good communication and reasoning skills. Can talk about patterns in complex technology problems. The candidate also needs to have a mix of Techno and Functional skills applicable to Warehouse or manufacturing operations

The Senior Solutions Architect (Supply Chain) is a senior technical leader that sets the technology direction within client's North American Supply Chain. We are looking for individuals that can solve challenging business problems through technology, engineering, and leadership. This role collaborates with business functions, product/portfolio managers, other Architects, and technology delivery teams to identify, plan, design, and lead implementation of technology solutions within the order fulfilment, warehouse operations and yard management domains. This is a highly technical role requiring deep functional familiarity with the SAP ecosystem, building custom solutions in a cloud environment and integrations with warehouse automation OT technologies.

You will
Gain a deep understanding of client's Supply Chain business process and how they are implemented in client's systems.
Advise on project and\or technical product ideas, determining their feasibility, conceptual solution options, impacts to people\process\technology and high-level costs.
Create end to end architecture designs (conceptual, logical, and physical) for the proposed projects\technical products ensuring that those designs meet business requirements and are scalable, fault tolerant, secure, performant and follow client's architecture standards.
Present those designs to client's Technical Architecture Governance Committee.
Advise software delivery teams on technical solution details and architecture best practices.
Maintain domain level architecture documentation including C4 diagrams, technology roadmaps and data products.
Present domain level technology roadmaps and key architecture tradeoffs to the CIO s leadership team.
Contribute to Architecture Governance practices including creation of technology standards and patterns.
Research current and emerging technologies, and propose their adoption as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

On the functional side the candidate should have:
Expertise in the supply chain processes especially covering warehouse or manufacturing operations, yard management, and order fulfilment processes.
Deep functional expertise in SAP EWM. Preferably in the S/4 HANA version. Able to advise business teams on functional process capabilities within EWM.
Good working knowledge of market trends in the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), Warehouse Controls Systems (WCS), warehouse automation, and yard management capabilities and experience designing processes that span those technologies.

On the technical the candidate should be capable of designing end-to-end system architectures, both logical and physical, and presenting these designs during the Architecture Review process and to senior IT leadership. Additionally, the candidate should drive best practices within the SAP space across engineering teams. Equally important is the candidate's ability to extend beyond the SAP ecosystem and develop custom products.
Working expertise in SAP ecosystem especially EWM, ECC/ S/4, and BTP looking for someone that can champion best practices.
Good understanding of modern architectural practices including understanding of key concepts in serverless application development, integration, APIs, events, security, basic networking.
Experience designing complex cross application solutions combining both SAP and non-SAP applications. Ideally experienced with custom product designs (full technology stock) on AWS or Azure.
Understanding of basic data product concepts is a plus

Several years of hands-on experience developing, designing, documenting, and implementing technology solutions according to modern architectural patterns.
