Application Engineer

This person will be the primary Application Engineer providing coverage for industrial and commercial clients in the Denver and surrounding region. This position will require extensive travel to customers both locally as well as out of state. A valid driver's license and good driving record is required, and it could involve up to 75% overnight travel.

Candidate must be able to obtain necessary clearance and/or credentials as required. The types of credentials could include, but are not limited to, Homeland Security clearance, background and credit checks, etc.....

What will you do?
  • Interact with customers, contractors and end-users and must work well in a team environment
  • Provide Software installation, upgrade and start-up services for Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) software including troubleshooting equipment and device communications and provide customer training for the commissioned system
  • Consult with customers to determine system operation requirements
  • Specify and purchase of hardware/software as required by project
  • Configure and commission Schneider Electric and 3rdparty hardware
  • Documenting the as-built system

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Passion for helping clients use electrical power more efficiently
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and client interaction skills
  • Interest in being the "goto" person others look to for answers
  • Confidence and ability to take a project through completion
  • Experience with meters (troubleshooting and upgrade/installation)
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, interpret contract specifications and electrical drawing packages
  • Experience setting up communications with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems; Building Automation Systems, Systems Integration, and/or Energy Management Systems'

Qualifications, Desirable:
  • Experience working around electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, etc....
  • Good understanding of industry standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus, IEC 61850, and BACnet
  • Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware
  • Knowledgeable in computer programming languages (Visual Basic, C/C++, Java, etc.), databases (SQL), and HTML development
  • HMI configuration experience, including graphical screen development
  • Direct experience with Schneider Electric proprietary software such as Power Monitoring Expert, Power SCADA Expert and Wonderware

Notes:
  • The first 3-4 weeks involve training and safety classes (online), followed by on the job training, partnered with a peer
  • Job sites change daily for the most part and clients are commercial, industrial and medical facilities primarily
  • We try to limit commute time to 2 hours or less although overnight travel would be required at times (all expenses covered)
  • Mileage reimbursement or fleet/rental car vehicle options

The U.S. compensation range for this Colorado based full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $66,000-$99,000 for candidates located within the U.S. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
