Description

The Intern will gain real-world experience working with botanists, wildlife biologists, wetland ecologists, and/or regulatory specialists on a wide variety of projects, including special status species surveys, habitat assessments, aquatic resources delineations, construction implementation, and restoration projects in Southern California. The Intern will assist with project tasks such as those listed below, will offer their insight and latest knowledge of techniques to professional staff, and learn about the work done at ICF.

This is a full-time, 10-week internship that begins in early June 2025. The intern will work a hybrid schedule from our San Diego, CA office. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with species surveys, restoration and construction monitoring, planning and implementation of field activities, take detailed field data, assist with constraints analyses, and review database outputs.
  • Assist with project-related tasks such as writing reports, sections of regulatory documents, and environmental permit application.
  • Complete field-related work assignments within 2-3 hours of San Diego.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management, environmental sciences, or similar discipline with an anticipated graduation after August 2025 but no later than June 2026.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Some knowledge of California and Federal environmental laws and regulations
  • Ability to document agendas, notes, and other meeting deliverables in a clear and accurate manner
  • First aid/CPR certified

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :

$37,154.00 - $63,162.00
