Job Title: GIS Developer (ArcGIS)

Fulltime- Permanent Opportunity
Location: Pleasant Hill, California
(Candidates must be local to the job location.)


Job Summary: We are seeking a talented GIS Developer with expertise in ArcGIS to join our dynamic team. As a GIS Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing spatial applications and solutions to support various projects and initiatives. Your primary focus will be on creating and optimizing GIS databases, and geospatial applications, and integrating geospatial data into existing systems, and ability to develop automated testing scripts for GIS products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze geospatial requirements and deliver innovative solutions to meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain GIS applications using ArcGIS technologies.
  • Design and implement GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand spatial requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Integrate geospatial data with other systems and databases to provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Create custom geospatial tools and workflows to enhance data analysis and visualization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to GIS applications, databases, and data layers.
  • Perform data analysis and spatial modeling to support decision-making processes.
  • Develop and maintain geospatial web services for data dissemination.
  • Keep up to date with emerging GIS trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Support GIS data collection, conversion, and validation processes.
  • Collaborate with GIS analysts, cartographers, and other team members to ensure seamless data integration and application development.
  • Document technical specifications, user guides, and standard operating procedures for GIS applications and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, or related field.
  • Proven work experience as a GIS Developer with a focus on ArcGIS technologies.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Field map and Survey 123
  • Programming experience to integrate ArcGIS with other intake tools like Survey 123 or others.
  • Strong understanding of spatial data concepts, GIS principles, and spatial analysis techniques.
  • Experience with GIS programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or. NET.
  • Familiarity with GIS database management and database design principles.
  • Knowledge of geospatial web services and APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience with other GIS software or tools, such as QGIS or MapInfo, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based GIS platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
