Windows 11 Deployment Specialist

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is seeking an experienced Windows 11 Deployment Specialist for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in lower Manhattan, NYC. Location: Onsite 5 days per week plus occasional nights and weekends.

This is a temporary 3-month contract, intended to be an interim role, ideal for someone in between engagements!

We are seeking a skilled contractor to assist in the deployment of Windows 11 desktops and laptops across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in configuring, imaging, and rolling out Windows 11 machines.

Responsibilities:
Windows 11 Deployment:

• Configure, image, and deploy Windows 11 desktops and laptops following company standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth and efficient rollout processes.
• Customize system settings and software installations according to user needs.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide technical support to end-users during the deployment process.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows 11 machines.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of deployments, configurations, and issue resolutions.
• Report on the progress of deployment and any challenges encountered.

Vulnerability Management (if you have this skill set):

• Respond to and remediate desktop issues identified by vulnerability management tools such as Tenable.
• Apply security patches and software updates to address vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in deploying and managing Windows 11 desktops and laptops.
• Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and software installation.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with IT teams.
• Must be able to work some nights and weekends.

Preferred Skills:

• Financial Services experience.
• Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automation of deployment tasks.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices and risk mitigation.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management tools.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management tools like Tenable, with experience in addressing desktop vulnerabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Client, or equivalent (a plus).
