System Engineer

Job Title: Network/System Engineer 

Location: New York, NY 10022 (3 Days Onsite) 

Duration: 6-12+ Months 

Employment Type: W2 Only 

Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly qualified Network/System Engineer to join our team in New York. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network engineering (with a strong focus on Layer 2) and server-level engineering (basic but practical). You will work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and optimizing network systems, ensuring seamless performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Layer 2 network infrastructure.
• Configure and manage VLANs, firewalls, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi controllers.
• Provide technical expertise for the organization’s Cisco-based networking environment, ensuring robust connectivity and security.
• Administer and optimize network performance and troubleshoot any connectivity issues.
• Support Microsoft Office 365. 
• Ensure that network and server solutions are scalable and aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with the IT team to implement and manage Azure-based cloud solutions.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure network and system integration with Google Cloud (if applicable).

Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required.
• Advanced expertise in Layer 2 networking, including VLANs, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi controllers.
• Practical experience in firewall management and optimization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. 
• Azure readiness, with experience in managing Azure-based cloud solutions.
• Basic understanding of server-level engineering, ensuring network and server integration.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud is a plus but not required.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Google Cloud technologies.
• Experience with network security protocols and measures.
