Job Overview:
Our Client is operating under the trade name UNICOR, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Contractor to help drive growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities in both domestic and international markets. This role involves working with FPI's various business groups to expand current offerings across sectors like Clothing and Textiles, Electronics, Fleet, Office Furniture, Recycling, and more. The contractor will focus on creating new customer accounts and growing FPI s market share.

Work Schedule and Location:

  • This is a remote position with an expected workload of 18-22 hours per week (approximately 900-1,100 hours annually).
  • No on-site work is required, and no Government Furnished Property will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a customized Target Company Prospect List (TCPL) of approximately 2,500 companies in FPI s target sectors using intelligence software (e.g., Gazelle) or comparable technology to identify potential leads.
  • Leverage AI software for market research to drive FPI s growth and sales strategy.
  • Manage a digital marketing strategy that promotes FPI s products and services, generating high-quality leads through platforms like LinkedIn or similar.
  • Collaborate with industry associations, business networking groups, and trade associations to generate new leads.
  • Schedule and conduct 100-125 meetings annually with qualified business prospects.
  • Track campaign success through data insights and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Utilize CRM software (Salesforce or comparable) to manage leads and track sales progress.
  • Nurture relationships with potential prospects, conducting regular follow-ups and ensuring effective handoff to FPI s business development team.
  • Gather and deliver critical project and market information to FPI, providing recommendations for new product and service offerings.
  • Submit weekly project status reports and participate in weekly meetings to discuss outreach, program status, and any issues encountered.
  • Provide a semi-annual operations report summarizing all activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, identifying and converting new business opportunities, especially in the private or government sectors.
  • Proven experience with lead generation and building a pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sales process and ability to develop strategic and operational sales plans.
  • Strong market research and customer acquisition skills using industry-leading datasets and AI-based software.
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce or comparable).
  • Familiarity with FPI s product lines and ability to promote its unique advantages in manufacturing and services.

Deliverables:

  • Annual marketing plan and sales goal report to FPI s Chief of Business Development.
  • Monthly sales attainment reports.
  • Database of customer contacts and sales pipeline.
  • Weekly sales call reports and pipeline updates.

Requirements:

  • Strong ability to build constructive relationships and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and develop growth strategies in competitive markets.

Contract Terms:

  • Fixed-price contract with one (1) base year and one (1) option year.
