Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the network environment and manage the technical goals to ensure the success of delivered solutions. Possess the skillset to mentor (or coach) other engineers in specific technologies, applications, and operating systems. Oversee the responsibilities of navigating complex technical challenges, to include purchasing, implementation and troubleshooting, as well as collaborating with management on future technologies. Candidate will be working with a small team of Linux, Virtualization (Nutanix) and Windows Systems Engineers supporting customers' technical requirements and maintaining development and operational networks. There will be daily interaction with the team, customers, and government representatives. Primary Responsibilities: Design, lead, and execute new technical solutions and improvements to the environment. Lead the team in training sessions to increase knowledge of existing and new technologies. Collaborate with team on projects, assisting with advanced troubleshooting when necessary. Research, review, and provide statistics on new technology and cost benefit analysis. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to team members, management, customers, and government personnel. Identify and resolve technical issues and ensure quality standards are met. Guide and coordinate technical activities with team while overseeing multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout system design life cycle. Basic Qualifications: BA/BS degree and 10 - 15 years of prior relevant experience or relevant working experience in lieu of degree. Secret Clearance required; TS preferred. Current, unexpired, CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent (will be verified before hiring). Experience with automation technologies and methodologies, including Ansible, GitOps, and DevSecOps. Engineering experience with virtualization technologies (preferably Nutanix, VMWare acceptable). Engineering experience with Windows operating systems, server and workstations. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Experienced in maintaining systems in production and development, providing systems support to include patching, STIGs, troubleshooting, etc. Effective leadership and communication (verbal and written) skills.
