Job Title: Guidewire Automation tester Location : Columbus, Ohio
Job Description Job Summary:
The Automation Guidewire Tester is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of Guidewire applications. This role involves collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to create and maintain automated test scripts that validate Guidewire software modules and integrations. The tester will also work on improving test coverage, reducing manual testing efforts, and ensuring that the Guidewire applications meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) using appropriate automation tools.
Build and enhance the existing test automation framework to improve efficiency and reusability.
Write clear and concise test cases that cover all aspects of functionality, integration, and performance.
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
Identify, document, and track bugs using defect management tools, ensuring they are addressed and resolved by the development team.
Perform test data preparation and work closely with the development team to ensure test environments are properly configured.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing updates on testing progress and identifying any blockers.
Continuously improve test processes and procedures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in test automation and Guidewire technologies.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior testers on automation best practices and Guidewire-specific testing techniques.
Generate detailed test reports, including test execution results, defect reports, and test coverage metrics.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test scripts, and test results for future reference and audit purposes.
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and contribute to project documentation.
Ensure that the Guidewire applications meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with the development team to implement preventive measures.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience as a QA Automation Tester, with specific experience testing Guidewire applications.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, UFT, or similar.
Strong understanding of Guidewire modules (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# for test automation scripting.
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Quality Center).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams.
Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
