Responsibilities:
  • Lead an AMER Observability advisory team driving new logos in Commercial and Public Sector sales sub-theaters to ensure results through planning, goal setting, monitoring, training, counseling and developing talent to meet or exceed role expectations
  • Establish yourself and your team as an expert and genuine business partner to sales leadership, representing the various engagements of the Security & Observability advisory team
  • Promote Splunk value drivers and solutions portfolio externally with customers, prospects, partners and the broader market through events and conferences
  • Build community with key personas with potential to be champions for Cisco | Splunk for Observability
  • Oversee the prioritization and execution of immersive value and advisory services to promote product area expansion
  • Measure and manage your team's performance to continuously drive lifetime value growth with key accounts
  • Build a team of exceptionally dedicated individuals who provide product area advisory to named partners and customers
  • Partner with other GTM leaders and Innovate to develop new use case, value propositions, tools, and advisory workshops that scale and evolve the Splunk selling and adoption motion
  • Advocate for the Splunk Observability portfolio within Splunk's field organization and externally to customers, prospects, and partners.
  • Ensure the team has an excellent understanding of the competitive ecosystem and industry issues, including regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with team members across technical and value advisory roles to grow lifetime value in prioritized named accounts and partners
  • Provide feedback to Global Strategists, Product Management and Marketing leadership to incorporate Observability specific requirements into new releases, business processes, communications, packaging, and pricing
  • Influence, reinforce, and drive adoption of enablement material to the Splunk Field in order to increase their knowledge and ability

Requirements:
  • Reputation as an Observability leader, a subject matter expert and trusted advisor with references to prove it
  • 10+ years total work experience in fast-growing, highly dynamic Observability organizations
  • 5+ years' experience building and leading teams with customer-facing responsibilities and an ability to grow and scale upward with the company
  • Understanding of analytics use cases, applications, and trends
  • Very comfortable in the "C" suite with a track record of success positively impacting sales, teamwork, strategy and vision
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams tasked with full lifecycle support
  • Demonstrated ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills in a cross-matrix organization - this skill is critical to the success of this role
  • Able to work independently and remotely
  • Familiarity with & comfortable using value based selling tools, account-targeting strategies and methods to drive & lead sales motions, knowledge of MEDDIC or challenger methodologies is a plus.
  • Up to 50% travel likely

OTE Pay Ranges

For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

On Target Earnings: $304,000.00 - 418,000.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.

On Target Earnings: $296,000.00 - 407,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
