Job Title: Computer and Information Systems Managers (Information Security Specialist) Intermediate.
Job Location: Rock Island, IL

Job Description::
Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Project specific: uses current information security technology disciplines and practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate information assets in accordance with established standards and procedures. Develops and maintains knowledgebase on changing regulatory, threat, and technology landscapes to continually develop or maintain security policies and standards, and ensure compliance throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of Systems Security Plans (SSP), Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), information security policies, and required bodies of evidence, as necessary, to ensure compliance with RMF guidelines
  • Ensuring the development and implementation of an effective information systems security education, training and awareness program (SETA)
  • Overseeing compliance of security settings for operating systems including Windows, Linux, etc on all information systems within the accreditation boundary
  • Ensuring proper measures are taken when information system incident or vulnerability is discovered
  • Managing and executing the information security continuous monitoring program
  • Ensuring configuration management policies and procedures for authorizing the use of hardware/software on an information system are followed and assess changes to the system, its environment, and operational needs that could affect the security authorization
  • Manages classified equipment, materials, and information in accordance with DoD COMSEC policies
  • Oversees the accurate inventory, distribution, accountability, and destruction of COMSEC keys and related material; maintains COMSEC material and equipment
  • Ensures the integrity of the COMSEC/TRANSEC program; maintains records and files, issues and recovers COMSEC equipment in accordance with established policies
  • Maintaining required information security certifications (CISSP, SEC+, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education Level: BA/BS; Minimum Years experience: 5+ yrs. ; Substitute for Minimum Education level and Years experience: AA w/7+ yrs.
