Job Description: As a Sr. Network Engineer you will design, implement, and support LANs, WANs, Security, and wireless networks for customers. You will also create architecture diagrams and design documents for customer networks and present that documentation to co-workers and customers. The role is a hybrid role that includes on-site work at customer locations and requires travel to those locations. For days that you are not on-site at customer locations you will work from Office/Home (Hybrid) and perform work functions remotely. Time tracking is essential and is required for this role.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Gather customer requirements, analyze those requirements and build high- and low-level architecture diagrams and design documents.
  • Create change request documents utilizing client s approved templates and complete customer change request forms to perform changes to network and infrastructure network.
  • Collaborate on the completion of customer questionnaires, solution requirements documents, prepare test plans, create migration plans, build technical plans to support project plans, and ensure delivery per architecture and plans in accordance with documentation standards.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, collaboration applications, firewalls, and wireless networks.
  • Support existing customer installations.
  • Perform configuration changes on the customer systems per customer requirements.
  • Prepare and present information to the customer in written, face-to-face and over video presentation format.
  • Perform on-site networking related activities to support the networking, collaboration, and security engineering teams.
  • Work with project managers and customers when performing on-site and remote IT related items.
  • Rack, cable and label network infrastructure equipment.
  • Report on-site to customer locations to perform network engineering tasks.
  • Communicate network engineering configurations and items with customers (on-site and remotely).
  • Log all time activity using ConnectWise platform.
  • Respond to customer emails in a timely manner.
  • Develop and update network diagrams using Visio or similar visualization tools.
  • Assist engineering team maintain up to date documentation to customers.
  • Meet internally with network engineering team members and project management office to update project status and support items.
  • This role does not have direct reports.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support.
  • After-hours and weekend work is required to perform changes to customer environments during non-business hours.

Job Requirements

  • Maintain a minimum of CCNP or equivalent level certification.
  • 7+ Years working on enterprise networks.
  • Experience managing Cisco, Palo Alto and Fortinet devices and networks.
  • Expert knowledge of Layer 2 standards and protocols.
  • Expert understanding of Layer 3 routing protocols: RIP, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP.
  • Fundamental knowledge of designing secure network architectures.
  • Network diagram creation and modification using Visio or similar drawing tools.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office 365 suite of productivity tools.
  • Log time to appropriate projects and tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
