Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a seasoned Senior Network and Computer Systems Administrator. The qualified candidate will join our highly performing team supporting the Finance and Regulatory Program.

The qualified candidate must be able to work on-site (daily) at Government facility (Washington, DC)

What you will do:

Oversee a team and engage in duties to design and implement network and database solutions for the customer's network infrastructure, perform software programming to expand technological capabilities, or troubleshoot on-premises and cloud network/server issues and devise solutions.
  • Provides ongoing systems administration, technical support, upgrades, and troubleshooting services.
  • Provide full coverage for Linux or Unix system administration functions.
  • Install, configure, support, and maintain middleware
  • Works closely with application and product teams in understanding their specific automation requirements and implement.
  • Achieve agreed-to Service Levels.
  • Provide On-Call escalation support for the 24x7x365 Service Desk.
  • Provide technical and operational recommendations
  • Overcomes performance problems, and provides overall level two support
  • Designs, installs, maintains, and coordinates the use of network systems
  • Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks
  • Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems, and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree and 12 years of experience. Additonal years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree
  • Required Certifications (copy of certifications is required):
    • ITIL 4+ Foundation Certification and MCA Microsoft Azure Admin
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
    • Required Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
    • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Satellite Administration
  • 12+ years of demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer/Linux Systems Administrator focusing on Linux systems.
  • Experience and training leading the design, configuration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, of data center hardware and software including but not limited to Linux Red hat.
  • Providing key support for Disaster Recover Exercises and FISMA Audits.
  • Knowledge of network technologies with the ability to troubleshoot minor network connectivity issues, including:
    • Network Interface Card (NIC) problems
    • Cabling issues
    • TCP/IP configuration errors
  • Must have experience in using ticketing systems manage incidents and requests (e.g., ServiceNow tools)
  • Must be experienced in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes.
  • Must be able to capture data from tools to present trends for decision-making
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance (Public Trust)
  • Experience in MS Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to capture data from tools to present trends for decision-making

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, Computer Science is preferred.
  • Active Public Trust clearance is also a plus

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
