Job Details

A client of Sharp Decisions Inc. is looking for a Fortra Automate Specialist. The position is 100% remote. The contract duration is 6 months with possible extension. *W2 only.

This role will be crucial in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes using Fortra Automate (formerly HelpSystems Automate). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of automation principles, scripting experience, and a passion for streamlining workflows.

Job Summary:
The Fortra Automate Specialist will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automation development, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and ongoing support. This includes creating and maintaining robust, efficient, and scalable automated solutions that integrate with various systems and applications.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement automated workflows using Fortra Automate.
Create and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript, Python) within the Fortra Automate environment to extend functionality and integrate with other systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automated processes.
Monitor and optimize existing automated workflows for performance and reliability.
Collaborate with other IT teams and business users to gather requirements and translate them into automated solutions.
Document automated processes and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Stay current with the latest Fortra Automate features and best practices.
Provide support and training to end-users on automated processes.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Manage and maintain the Fortra Automate environment, including upgrades and patches.
Contribute to the development of automation strategies and roadmaps.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience (e.g., 2+ years) working with Fortra Automate (formerly HelpSystems Automate) or similar automation platforms.
Strong scripting skills in at least one of the following languages: PowerShell, VBScript, Python.
Experience with integrating automated processes with various systems and applications (e.g., databases, APIs, web services).
Solid understanding of automation principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Fortra Automate certifications are a plus.

Additional Notes:
Candidate must have experience in automated workflows, scripting, and file transfers.

o Cross training on these topics will not be provided, so this candidate should already have these skills.
Candidates can be located out-of-state, but there is a chance that this position will convert to FTE. If this candidate were to convert, they will need to be local to Phoenix.
Preferred candidate will be mid-senior level. This position is self-directed and will work with many different departments to create scripts/workflows.
100% Remote. Interviews will be remote as well.
