Job Description
The Navigation Database (NDB) Manager will lead a dynamic team of analysts and software engineers in developing and delivering GE's Flight Management System (FMS) navigation database, which provides comprehensive worldwide navigation data and supports various FMS functionalities. In this pivotal leadership role, you will ensure product safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness by guiding strategic decision-making, fostering team development, and overseeing project execution. You will be responsible for NDB Letter of Acceptance (LOA) sign-offs, ensuring quality outcomes and adherence to defined processes. Additionally, you will facilitate collaboration between the engineering team and business counterparts to ensure an efficient value stream for our customers. By deeply understanding customer needs and coaching your team to find innovative solutions, you will champion continuous improvement and enhance the customer experience. Success in this role will be achieved through effective leadership, support, coordination, and development of your team.

- Lead and inspire a team of navigation database engineers and software engineers to achieve high-quality results through effective leadership and motivation.
- Develop and mentor engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and empowerment.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback and unwavering support to engineers, maximizing their potential and fostering significant professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation within the team by empowering team members to contribute and mature ideas and solutions.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality, and on-time delivery by leading the team to meet customer expectations and drive satisfaction.
- Deeply understand customer needs and coach the team to find innovative ways to help them succeed, enhancing customer experience and satisfaction.
- Coordinate collaboration between engineering teams and business counterparts, empowering team members to ensure efficient value stream management and seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with engineering processes, certification requirements, and quality management processes, including alignment with DO-200 standards, by guiding the team to maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and data integrity.
- Resolve engineering issues promptly by leading the team to address challenges and escalate when necessary to ensure project success.
- Develop and protect intellectual property by coaching the team to contribute to GE's competitive edge and ensuring data security through technical and organizational measures.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- At least 6+ years of experience in safety critical product design & development and/or technical project leadership within an engineering product development environment.

Travel Requirements:
- Ability to support up to 10% travel. The business may require the employee to come onsite initially for on-the-job training as well as onboarding activities. After that period, up to 20% travel may be required annually to support business needs.
