Title: IT Instructor Trainer (Hybrid Austin, TX)
Client: State of Texas
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite: Tuesday Thursday; 2 Days Remote: Monday & Friday)
Experience: Minimum 10 Years Required
Residency Requirement: Must currently reside in Texas (No relocation or out-of-state candidates)


Job Overview:
The State of Texas is seeking an experienced IT Instructor Trainer to join the Administrative Applications Grants Management System (GMS) team. This role involves developing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training materials both written and recorded for end users, external users, and administrators of the enterprise GMS built on the Salesforce platform.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver technical training programs, including instructor-led sessions, eLearning modules, webinars, job aids, and training videos.

  • Develop training materials for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products and custom IT-driven applications, including Salesforce-based systems.

  • Prepare instructor materials such as course outlines, background materials, instructional content, and training aids.

  • Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions based on agency needs.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical content and align on learning objectives.

  • Assist in the design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum.

  • Ensure training materials and delivery methods comply with EIR Accessibility standards.

  • Stay current with developments in computer training fields, especially alternative media/methods for instruction


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as a training instructor or in a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in training methods and technologies.

  • 8+ years of experience in curriculum development and instructional design.

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

  • Experience with instructional design and training materials of Information Technology applications or systems.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Excellent written communication abilities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering technical training in cloud-based technologies.

  • Familiarity with web-based learning management systems and e-Learning authoring tools.

  • Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • High degree of aptitude and flexibility to deliver training on a myriad of software products.
