Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated professionals in supporting the Space Development Agency (SDA) in developing and deploying the Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) software development and hosting environment for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) in Secret Impact Level 6 environment. These systems establish software development capabilities to securely and rapidly field mission applications developed by BMC3 ecosystem participants in support of Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) objectives.
SAIC has an immediate need for a BMC3 System Architect (SW and AWS Cloud Architect). We are looking for an innovative and motivated individual to facilitates the USAF and USA's efforts to migrate applications to a cloud environment, allowing for Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and allowing for increased efficiencies across the entire spectrum of the USAF and USA's IT Space operations deployment on the Edge. The candidate for this position will work primarily with Impact Level 5 (IL5) information and may require travel to - Redstone Arsenal, Grand Forks, ND. Other locations with access to an IL5; with the role p rimarily remote.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Design and deliver secure, scalable cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) leveraging AWS services in DOD Cloud One, ensuring alignment with DoD security requirements including Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA), Impact Levels (IL2-IL6), and NIST 800-53 compliance.
Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud technologies, identifying opportunities to optimize performance, scalability, and security of cloud environments while ensuring compliance with DoD directives, memorandums, and regulations.
Develop solution frameworks, Software application design principles, and conceptual architectures to be handed off to enterprise operations for final implementation and sustainment.
Align cloud strategies with FedRAMP and Zero Trust guidelines.
Qualifications
Experience integrating large, complex software systems comprised of inputs from numerous sources.
Experience with cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for SW architecture and utilization of microservices from a SW Factory and SW deployed to on-prem Space and Ground Systems.
CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or MS Azure.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Work proficiently on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and/or creative.
Ability to recommend/support decision making processes on program matters and ensure effective achievement of program objectives.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communications skills. Must be able to self-start and work independently.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
U.S. Citizen and an ACTIVE Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

- Architects may investigate methods to improve digital engineering plans for tracking and gathering metrics on progress (including Syft SBOM tracing).
- When an issue occurs in the transformation of Applications to Cloud Deployed Space App, the Solution Architect can identify and work with the IPT Leads and Chief Engineer to solve the issue as efficiently as possible. May also reassess and redesign the cloud system to ensure that issues don't reoccur.
- Solution architect ensures the security of a cloud environments. This way, they can prevent data breaches, minimize the effects of a data leak, or reduce downtime that may occur from a system error.
- Solution architect is to assess application developers' needs, budget and capability and advise how to construct a reliable CI/CD application.
- Architect will also be evaluating incoming third-party applications and their Software architecture determine the level of effort and feasibility of integration with the BMC3 Ecosystem.
Qualifications
