Position summary:

T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Engineer, Software is located in Overland Park, KS and will research, design, and develop computer and network software and specialized utility programs.

Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications.
  • Unit test new systems per technical specifications.
  • Develop support documentation required by application support teams to ensure system changes are accepted for production.
  • Conduct technical specification and software reviews with technical team.
  • Communicate design, requirements, functionality, and limitations of systems and applications.
  • Provide on call and after hours support as required for releases and production outages.
  • Meet project deliverables by communicating updates on project progress to development and project management, and escalating issues to mitigate delays.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Teams, Enterprise Testing, Release Management, Project Management, and Application Support to ensure effective implementation of systems enhancement initiatives.

Minimum requirements:

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

Skills requirements: Must have professional experience in the following:
  • Develop, modify, and test enterprise applications using Java, J2EE Web Technologies with REST Web Services, HTML, CSS, SOAP, SQL, Junit, JDBC, Spring Boot, JAVASCRIPT, JSON, Bootstrap, Adobe Commerce Cloud, Adobe CQ5API, Angular, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Building web applications and components using AEM; leveraging and integrating OAuth, OIDC, Target, Analytics, and Audience Manager for segmentation and personalization; and Developing experience and orchestration API's using Apigee and MuleSoft.
  • Using Jenkins, Sonar Cube, and Selenium for test automation and CI/CD.
  • Architect and design automated system solutions using PUML, Lucid chart, and Microsoft Visio.
  • Working with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, Simple DB, RDS, SQS, Identity, and access management), Google Cloud Platform, Docker, and Kubernetes to maintain, deploy, and migrate applications.
  • Working with Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Google Analytics, new relic, and App Dynamics to keep track of systems in production and to build dashboards for error reporting.

Candidate's pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
