Career Global Software Engineer- On-site
What We're Doing
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team, is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team, as a whole, is very large but is broken down into many smaller agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.
The Work
GTP is seeking a software engineer that will thrive in an environment requiring maintenance and development of Java based applications heavily reliant on efficient algorithm development & linear algebra. Candidate engineers are eager to tackle difficult problems through collaboration and comradery. This engineer jumps at the opportunity to support their team across the finish line! Collaboration mandates excellent written and communication skills; well-articulated documentation in the form of clearly documented software, technical memorandums, white papers, software modeling and technical presentations are part of daily activities.
Please Note:
This position will involve around 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S.

As part of C2BMC-G you will support on-site at our Federal Drive location in the North end of Colorado Springs. With the mountains as the backdrop for daily living, you will begin to appreciate the 360 days of sunshine we receive here and still be able to play "winter" sports in the middle of May.

Basic Qualifications
6+ years of Java development experience writing
o unit-testable operational code
o and unit tests exercising said code
Linux-based (preferably Red Hat / CentOS / Oracle Linux) environment
GIT in Linux
Jira and Confluence
Experience with software modeling using UML
Experience writing & presenting technical documentation to audiences ranging from team members to non-technical customers
Desired skills
The following are desirable but not required experience
Use of Eclipse, Matlab, Visio, & Enterprise Architect
Software design using Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
Fluent in BaSH (Bourne-Again Shell) or similar scripting
Automated test-driven & continuous integration development

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $105,000 - $201,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
