Job Title: Full Stack Engineering Lead [Java, Spring Boot, Angular 16+, Google Cloud Platform]
Location: United States - Remote/Hybrid options available (onshore lead; regular overlap with offshore pods required)
Duration: Contract (12-15 months, potential extension)

 

PositionSummary:

A GRT Client is seeking an accomplished Full Stack Engineering Lead to steer multiple onshore/offshore pods through the full software development lifecycle of large scale, cloud native applications. You will combine deep technical mastery in Angular 16+, Java, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL with proven leadership in Agile delivery, code quality, and DevOps automation. Experience in healthcare, PBM, or finance especially within the Express Scripts ecosystem is highly valued.

 

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Drive architectural discussions with enterprise architects, product managers, security, and infrastructure teams to craft scalable, secure solutions on GoogleCloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Establish coding standards, best practices, and quality gates; champion feature flag strategies and performance optimization techniques.
  • Lead by example designing, coding, and debugging full stack features using Angular 16+, Spring Boot microservices, and PostgreSQL.
  • Conduct in-depth code reviews, troubleshoot complex defects, and ensure every merge meets acceptance criteria and performance targets.
  • Design and implement robust pipelines with GitHubActions, Harness, ArgoCD, or CircleCI, automating build, test, and deploy workflows across GKE or similar Kubernetes platforms.
  • Integrate automated testing (e.g., Playwright) and observability hooks to maintain release velocity and reliability.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives using Rally/Jira; track metrics and remove blockers to keep pods on pace.
  • Coach engineers on modern frontend and backend patterns, cloud delivery, and problem solving techniques, ensuring alignment with project goals and enterprise standards.
  • Partner with product and design leads to translate business requirements into technical epics and user stories.
  • Oversee data-driven reporting solutions integrating dashboards from MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker into the application via iframes or REST APIs, adhering to visualization best practices.

 

RequiredQualifications:

  • 12-15 years of full stack software engineering experience, with senior leadership of distributed teams.
  • Expert level Angular( 16+) frontend development and Java Spring Boot microservices.
  • Strong command of PostgreSQL and relationaldata modeling.
  • Demonstrated success delivering cloud native applications on GoogleCloud Platform (or equivalent), including GKE or other Kubernetes services.
  • Proficiency in debugging, performance tuning, and featureflag management.
  • Handson CI/CD pipeline creation with GitHubActions, Harness, ArgoCD, or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with automated UI/API testing tools such as Playwright.
  • Solid Agile experience with Rally or Jira for sprint management.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a track record of mentoring engineers.

 

PreferredQualifications:

  • Google Cloud Platform or Azure Developer Certification, CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), or similar.
  • Direct experience in pharmacy benefits management or ExpressScripts projects.
  • Background in embedding or integrating visual analytics from MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker into web applications.
  • Deep understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
