propos du poste :

L'ingnieur(e) hydraulique aux offres techniques est responsable du volet hydraulique dans la prparation des propositions techniques pour le produit turbine, en phase avec la stratgie dfinie avec l'quipe des oprations commerciales. Son mandat implique de mener les analyses permettant de comprendre et rencontrer les attentes du client en lui proposant la solution technique optimale qui permettra de gagner le contrat, tout en respectant les contraintes de budget et les jalons d'chancier.

L'ingnieur hydraulique aux offres techniques est le leader pour tous les aspects techniques relis au produit turbine de l'offre, responsable de proposer une solution technique gagnante pour le produit turbine, autant dans un cadre de nouvelle centrale que dans celui de la rfection d'une centrale existante.

Responsabilits :
  • Identifier et analyser les exigences techniques selon les spcifications du client et participer l'laboration de la stratgie d'offre qui maximisera la valeur pour le client.
  • Reprer les informations manquantes et obtenir les clarifications auprs des clients et partenaires.
  • Effectuer des visites au site afin d'obtenir l'information technique requise pour prparer l'offre;
  • Raliser les tudes de pr-dimensionnement et d'optimisation des turbines hydrauliques,
  • Produire et communiquer aux autres fonctions les fiches techniques des pices neuves ou de rfection des pices existantes, pour une offre comptitive respectant la stratgie tablie;
  • Agir comme un optimiseur de projet technique, en promouvant des initiatives d'optimisation des cots, tout en veillant aux aspects qualit et livraison.
  • Coordonner la validation technique interne des solutions techniques proposes;
  • Identifier les risques techniques et les plans d'attnuation associs, de mme que les opportunits commerciales;
  • Faire le dimensionnement hydraulique des turbines, principalement dans un contexte de remplacement, modernisation et optimisation de roues hydraulique dans le cadre de machines existantes;
  • tablir les caractristiques techniques, performances et garanties techniques, notamment par la ralisation de calculs numriques en mcanique des fluides (CFD).
  • Fournir le support technique requis par les sous-traitants dans le cadre de l'offre.
  • Produire la documentation technique incluse dans l'offre.
  • Rencontrer les clients pour supporter techniquement les Oprations Commerciales et les Ventes.
  • Participer au dveloppement technique et au savoir-faire pour les appels d'offres.

Qualifications / Exigences
  • Baccalaurat en ingnierie mcanique ou aronautique
  • Excellentes comptences en communication; GE Vernova fournit des services de haute qualit des clients du monde entier, et l'employ(e) doit tre capable de fournir des services de manire efficace, conformment aux normes d'excellence de l'entreprise. Doit matriser l'anglais. Si bas(e) au Qubec, doit galement matriser le franais.
  • Doit tre membre de l'ordre professionnel des ingnieurs de sa province (ou ligible devenir membre court terme).
  • Doit avoir l'autorisation de travailler au Canada sans restriction, sans ncessiter de parrainage.
  • Doit accepter de se soumettre une vrification pralable l'emploi, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, une vrification des rfrences et des antcdents.
  • Volont et disponibilit pour voyager occasionnellement en Amrique du Nord.

About the role :

The Hydraulic Engineer for Technical Tendering is responsible for the hydraulic aspect in the preparation of technical proposals for the turbine product, in line with the strategy defined with the commercial operations team. This involves conducting analyses to understand and meet the client's expectations by proposing the optimal technical solution that will secure the contract, while respecting budget constraints and schedule milestones.

Additionally, the Hydraulic Engineer leads all technical aspects related to the turbine product, ensuring a winning solution for both new power plants and the refurbishment of existing ones.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and analyze technical requirements according to client specifications and participate in developing the offer strategy that maximizes value for the client.
  • Identify missing information and obtain clarifications from clients and partners.
  • Conduct site visits to gather the technical information required to prepare the offer.
  • Perform pre-sizing and optimization studies for hydraulic turbines.
  • Produce and communicate technical sheets for new or refurbished parts to other functions, ensuring a competitive offer that aligns with the established strategy.
  • Act as a technical project optimizer, promoting cost optimization initiatives while ensuring quality and delivery aspects.
  • Coordinate internal technical validation of proposed technical solutions.
  • Identify technical risks and associated mitigation plans, as well as commercial opportunities.
  • Perform hydraulic sizing of turbines, mainly in the context of replacement, modernization, and optimization of hydraulic wheels within existing machines.
  • Establish technical characteristics, performance, and technical guarantees, notably through numerical calculations in fluid mechanics (CFD).
  • Provide the required technical support to subcontractors within the framework of the offer.
  • Produce the technical documentation included in the offer.
  • Meet with clients to provide technical support to Commercial Operations and Sales.
  • Participate in technical development and expertise for tenders.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering
  • Excellent communication skills; GE Vernova provides high-quality services to clients worldwide, and the employee must be able to deliver services effectively in line with the company's standards of excellence. Must be fluent in English. If based in Quebec, must also be fluent French.
  • Must be member of professional order of engineers for their province , (or eligible to become a member in the short term).
  • Must have authorization to work in Canada without restriction, without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must agree to undergo pre-employment screening, including but not limited to reference and background checks.
  • Willingness and availability to occasionally travel in North America

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in fluid mechanics or technical-commercial offers is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of hydraulic turbines and their behavior would be an advantage, including:
    • Numerical methods in fluid and solid mechanics
    • Inspection and manufacturing processes
    • Material properties
    • Assembly, commissioning, and performance testing
  • Passionate about technical and mechanical and/or hydraulic design.
