Position Details
The search intelligence team has an opening for a staff full stack engineer to help build out a new react based workstation. The workstation is a web based tool used to support our search analysts who keep our search functionality accurate and useful. Workstation will be the one stop shop for search analysts and will also feedback information into our machine learning and AI models that drive search.

You Will:
  • Be the lead engineer spearheading the new workstation.
  • Dive into different layers of our technology stack to build out workstation using technologies like:
    • React
    • Spring boot
    • Docker
    • Kubernetes
    • AWS cloud services (S3, EKS, ect)
  • Help the team with best practices around react and our front end systems
  • Have opinions on what tools to use and be able to justify your stance
  • Collaboratively build the front and back end components of the systems
  • Support the systems you build as part of our on call rotation
  • Be open to pair programming and continuously experimenting with ways of working to improve
  • Develop functionality with speed at high quality
  • Build products that delight our users and have empathy for the problems they are trying to solve


You Have :
  • Have a thorough understanding of react and how to use it.
  • Years of experience building mission critical systems as a full stack engineer.
  • A deep understanding of REST and HTTP and how to build robust APIs.
  • Understanding of distributed system design and experience building production grade distributed systems.
  • Understanding of producer/consumer design patterns and messaging frameworks like Kafka
  • Built software that runs in the cloud, such as AWS or Google cloud and understand cloud native design patterns
  • Some experience with CI/CD pipelines and have opinions on what makes a good pipeline.
  • Experience with production support and observability
  • A belief that quality is everyone's responsibility and hold opinions on how to validate and harden software systems.
  • Have an ownership mindset. Our team members are expected to work through or around obstacles and drive a task to completion.
