Job Title: Data Ops Engineer
Location: Boston, MA (Onsite) Duration: 12-Month Contract Extendable

Job Summary:

 The ideal candidate will have expertise in modern data technologies, with the ability to develop, implement, and optimize database queries, reports, and data pipelines. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can analyze and improve existing data processes, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Triage issues across the data platform to address development, test, and production concerns.

  • Test data pipelines in staging/QA environments and assist in deploying them to production.

  • Collaborate with business, product, and technical stakeholders to resolve data and reporting issues.

  • Create and manage Incident and Change Requests (ServiceNow) as needed for data pipelines.

  • Assist in data architecture, ETL pipeline development, automation, and scheduling.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including Confluence pages, technical procedures, and user guides/SOPs.

  • Apply best practices for optimized software development, including CI/CD implementation.

  • Maintain data quality by implementing automated query checks and control frameworks.

  • Provide 24x7 availability (on a rotational basis) to support critical deliveries, loads, and releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of data software development experience with expertise in applying software engineering best practices (system design, modularity, version control, unit testing, documentation, etc.).

  • Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Cloud Expertise: Strong foundation/certification in AWS Cloud Services, including S3, Redshift Spectrum, and EC2.

  • Tools & Platforms: Solid experience working with GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
