Sr Systems Analyst
This is a W-2 position only (no staffing agencies or contractors). Candidates must currently reside in the U.S.
Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Onsite is required)
Location: Plano, TX
Summary:
The Sr. Systems Analyst will provide expert insights and professional guidance on complex application development projects. They will exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in developing product deliverables. Leveraging deep product knowledge, they will advise technical and functional leaders and provide thought leadership within Systems Analysis, contributing to broader business projects. Recognized as a subject matter expert internally.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, and prepare application/system specifications for solutions that meet business needs, including methods for testing and installation.
- Define system scope and objectives based on user needs.
- Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems, considering system capacity, operating time, and desired results.
- Prepare detailed specifications, mapping specifications, business flow diagrams, and gap analysis documentation for system configuration.
- Analyze and revise system logic and documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with IT and business management to identify and specify complex business requirements, participate in design, testing, and implementation.
- Coordinate activities with other IT sections (e.g., engineering and architecture teams).
- Write test scenarios, test scripts, and perform testing as needed.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and user requirements, translating them into system specifications.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on industry and system-related issues.
- Possess full knowledge of systems analysis, including configuration, while considering the business implications of technology applications.
- Hands-on experience with writing database queries, NoSQL databases, preparing JSON/XML samples, modifying XML/JSON schema, and authoring business rules using Drools.
- Experience with API clients like Postman or SoapUI for running/analyzing APIs, and responsible for writing basic REST API specifications if needed.
Skills:
- At least 8 years of diverse IT experience; health insurance delivery, claims processing, enrollment processing, or premium billing experience is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with Product Owners, Managers, Engineers, and Architects to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
- Adaptability and flexibility to business demands.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with full-stack application development.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture.
- Proficiency with AWS Services or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology.
- Test automation skills using BDD, TDD, or similar approaches.
