Job Details

Location: Sacramento, CA
Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $70.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer for both remote engineering and on site physical site surveys to help design, build, and upgrade their current network infrastructure.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Work directly with customers, vendors, and strategic partners to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data networking issues and/or design network solutions.
  • Monitor LAN/WAN connectivity to ensure all users have the required connections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues in Ethernet and Token Ring environments.
  • Maintain data integrity through daily backups of all file server information and ensure an effective tape rotation.
  • Troubleshoot hardware problems and provide timely and accurate progress status on all ongoing support issues.
  • Monitor telecommunications performance and make necessary configuration changes to hubs, routers, switches, etc., to ensure maximum network performance.
  • Manage server disk space, memory, caching, and other performance metrics to ensure peak efficiency.
  • Work with client groups to ensure end users have all required equipment properly installed and configured based on specific project requirements.
  • Monitor print servers and troubleshoot and resolve all network printing issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend new or upgraded products to enhance LAN/WAN performance.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Architectural: Design of TR spaces based on building size and IT requirements.
  • Mechanical: HVAC sizing based on IT equipment specifications.
  • Electrical: UPS sizing and pathway design based on IT requirements.
  • Cabling SOW: Backbone, horizontal cabling (fiber/copper/specialty).
  • Site Assessments: Schematic design and estimation tool.
  • IT Design: Design development and construction documents for follow-on engineering.
  • Cabling SOWs: CD/Add Move Change for IT and regulatory device connectivity.
  • Software Experience: Proficiency with engineering software packages such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Solidworks.
  • Consultation: Meet and consult with multiple groups (NFS, CPFC, CDTS, ITC, Security, Local Facilities) on infrastructure projects.
  • Quality Inspections: Conduct on-site quality inspections.
  • Site Recommendations: Assess and recommend updates for outdated or over-capacity spaces to meet current company standards.
