Job Description:
Client is seeking a Web Developer in the IT Division. This position will be reporting to the Website Coordinator and joining a highly dynamic and results oriented team. This position will be a key resource in providing enhancements and security for multiple WordPress applications. Work will support highway safety, emergency messaging, lead acquisition as well as several public outreach programs.
Required Skills:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field;
- Considerable software implementation experience
- Proficiency in PHP
- Understanding of WordPress architecture
- Understanding of SQL
- Understanding of REST API
- Ability to work as team member on web development projects end-to-end
- Proven knowledge of back-end/infrastructure maintenance and optimization and UX/UI principles
- Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of secure coding practices
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in information sciences, computer science, or a related field
- Outstanding communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Working across the full stack, building, maintaining and optimizing scalable, distributed features and solutions that enable positive user experiences across desktop and mobile
- Developing new features in support of business and project requirements
- Managing vendor support as needed for maintenance and enhancement
- Working with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
