Systems Engineer

This position is four days per week onsite in San Diego, CA, and no relocation assistance is available.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assess, define, and execute IT initiatives that align with clients' strategic goals.
- Facilitate seamless transitions of servers and systems to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
- Maintain effective communication channels with internal teams, clients, and end users to ensure transparency and efficiency.
- Produce thorough documentation of work processes and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing resources.
- Assist in deploying IT solutions and ensure a smooth transition during project rollouts.

Skills & Requirements:
- Proven success and passion working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, including customer interaction.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in the IT sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of various IT infrastructures and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- 2+ years of experience managing multiple network environments, with a strong foundation in network support and administration.
- Proficiency in Windows Server 2016/2022 is required, with preference given to candidates holding an MCSA Server certification.
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V, including the setup, clustering, and maintenance of virtualized environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS cloud solutions is essential.
- Expertise in Active Directory Domain Services, including implementation, migration, and integration with Entra ID.
- Competence in SharePoint architecture, including deployment, migration, and customization, is highly advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols and principles, along with hands-on experience in configuring firewalls and VPNs, particularly with Cisco Meraki, Cisco ASA, and SonicWALL.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for effective collaboration with both technical teams and clients.
- A solid problem-solving mindset with the ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues efficiently.
