Description

Remote OR Hybrid: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of [Mountain View, Austin, Atlanta, Detroit, Warren, Milford], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

We are looking for a highly experienced Software Engineer to join our Mapping team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing and enhancing our mapping pipelines and on-car mapping software to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead. Your expertise will play a critical role in streamlining our mapping processes, ultimately helping us achieve significant cost savings and operational efficiencies.

  • Analyze existing mapping pipelines and identify areas for optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Design and implement solutions to streamline data ingestion, processing, and output generation within the mapping pipelines.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to enhance throughput and reduce processing times.
  • Architect scalable solutions that can handle large volumes of data while maintaining reliability and robustness.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and address issues within the mapping pipelines.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of mapping pipeline components.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.

Additional Description

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on large-scale data processing or mapping technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or similar, and experience with relevant frameworks and libraries.
  • Strong background in optimizing performance and scalability of distributed systems and data pipelines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Comfortable working in highly ambiguous and dynamic environments

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is $225,000 and $334,800. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
