Job Details

Title: HANA Database Administrator with GIS Location: Detroit, MI / Chicago, IL Duration: 6+ Months

Job summary:
The GIS HANA Database Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of HANA databases. This role requires a deep understanding of GIS data and the ability to manage and optimize spatial databases to support our geospatial applications.

Key responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain HANA databases.
Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency.
Manage and maintain GIS data within the HANA environment.
Implement and manage database security measures.
Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
Collaborate with GIS developers and analysts to support application development.
Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations and procedures.
Stay updated with the latest HANA and GIS technologies and best practices.


Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a HANA Database Administrator.
Strong knowledge of GIS concepts and spatial data management.
Proficiency in SQL and database management tools.
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
Familiarity with database security practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred qualifications:
Experience with SAP HANA administration.
Knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.
Certification in database administration or GIS.
