Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning and designing network systems that meet the organization's needs, ensuring efficient data flow and network security.
- Installing and configuring network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as configuring software and networking protocols like TCP/IP.
- Managing and monitoring the network's performance, ensuring smooth operation. This includes regular assessments, tuning for optimal performance, and managing bandwidth usage.
- Diagnosing and resolving network issues, including connectivity problems, network outages, slowdowns, or failures of network devices.
- Ensuring network security by setting up firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Implementing security protocols to protect against unauthorized access.
- Maintaining detailed records of network configurations, designs, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Regularly upgrading network hardware/software and performing preventive maintenance to keep the network infrastructure up to date and secure.
- Working closely with other IT teams, such as system administrators and security engineers, to ensure the overall infrastructure is optimized and secure.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related STEM or engineering discipline required and 5 years related professional experience OR
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related STEM or engineering discipline required and 3 years related professional experience - Must have JNCDA, JNCDS-DC, JNCDS-SEC, CCNA, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired.
