Position Summary: SAIC is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Defense Innovation Acceleration (DIA) project at Offutt AFB. In this role, you will provide crucial support for the concept nomination, selection, execution, and transition activities within the Department of Defense (DoD). This position is for forward-thinking individuals who are passionate about contributing to the defense innovation landscape and who thrive in high-energy environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft operational guidance and produce demonstration plans to articulate the utility and application of new technologies in defense operations.
  • Oversee the execution of military utility evaluations, ensuring accurate and robust assessment of capabilities.
  • Provide operational guidance to distributed system engineering teams working on advanced capability development and military utility testing.
  • Engage with diverse, distributed, and highly technical teams for joint concept of operations development and work closely with operational military staff and expert engineering teams.
  • Prepare detailed programmatic documentation including congressional reports, implementation directives, management plans, and monitor financial reports regularly.
  • Produce integrated assessments of DIA capabilities, culminating in final military utility assessments that inform capability validation and adoption.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a related field with exposure to defense innovation projects; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Directly applicable experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience with DoD operational planning, systems integration, and testing & evaluation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; capable of drafting complex documentation and presenting to various stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including military personnel, engineers, and program managers.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting within a project management context.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
