Your Role and Responsibilities
- Automation: Develop and maintain Python scripting solutions to automate data collection, processing, and analysis tasks, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Data Science: Collaborate with teams to construct usable data sets from various structured and unstructured sources, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Software Development: Contribute to software development projects, utilizing your strong fundamentals in computer science to design and implement solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Problem-Solving: Approach technical issues creatively, employing debugging and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve problems effectively.
- Communication: Work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts and solutions clearly.
- Applying data engineering techniques to gather, prepare, cleanse, and transform data for analysis, automation, and AI.
- Data Modelling: Apply basic understanding or experience with predictive/prescriptive modelling techniques to derive insights from data.
- Agile Development: Embrace Agile Development Methodologies and Design Thinking principles to drive innovation and streamline project delivery.
- Cloud Integration: Develop a basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc., and explore opportunities to leverage cloud services for analytics and data processing
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree/experience.
- You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, and designing & implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
- Strong technical and analytical abilities, a knack for driving impact and growth, and some experience with programming/scripting in a language such as Python or Java
- Understanding of statistical programming in a language such as Python, R or SAS.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset; current on technical growth in the data science space
- Familiarity constructing usable data sets from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
- You thrive on teamwork using excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding or experience with predictive/prescriptive modeling skills
- You have an interest in, understanding of, or experience with Design Thinking and Agile Development Methodologies
- You have a basic understanding of Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)
