This role encompasses a broad set of responsibilities, from the initial stages of gathering requirements and data modeling to the development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of ETL and data warehouse projects. You will leverage your deep expertise in ETL methodologies and tools, primarily Microsoft SSIS, to ensure that data solutions are robust, efficient, and scalable.

This job might be for you if you're interested in:

  • Working at a not-for-profit, mission-based organization that is focused on its members.
  • A welcoming and supportive environment that gives you an opportunity to impact patient care.
  • Excellent work-life balance – reasonable working hours, generally no evenings or weekends in a hybrid or remote environment.
  • A competitive compensation package that includes outstanding medical/dental benefits, incredible long-term savings benefits, generous time off (including a week-long Winter Break), paid parental leave and more.
  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Enjoy the challenge of creating new solutions for a variety of tasks.
  • An opportunity to work with a team that has longevity at RSNA, a culture of continuous improvement, a true sense of teamwork and support, and a fabulous sense of humor.

What you’ll do:

  • Producing and optimizing complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to meet application and business requirements.
  • Acquiring an in-depth understanding of the RSNA's data systems to support and enhance data management and integration processes.
  • Designing, developing, and managing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like SSIS, ensuring data is accurately transferred and transformed for reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborating on the design and development of database structures and ETL procedures to facilitate efficient and effective reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Estimating ETL project timelines and resource requirements based on detailed business specifications, contributing to project planning and management activities.
  • Assisting in the development of data models for the organization's Enterprise Data Marts to ensure data integrity and availability for end-users.
  • Building SSAS Tabular models and advancing data modeling techniques to support complex data analysis and reporting needs.
  • Implementing and maintaining data solutions leveraging a variety of technologies, including AWS, Elasticsearch, MySQL, and other relational and non-relational database platforms.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the successful execution of SQL agent jobs, scheduled tasks, ETL processes, and services, addressing any issues to minimize downtime and data discrepancies.
  • Providing ongoing support for existing data warehouse, reporting, and analytics solutions, including troubleshooting issues and managing regular data processing tasks.

Additionally, you may be involved in:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver comprehensive data solutions that support organizational goals.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of the data management and analytics infrastructure to adapt to evolving business needs and technology advancements.
  • Be involved in initiatives to evaluate and implement new data technologies and methodologies to enhance the organization's data capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in ETL development and data warehousing, with a strong preference for expertise in Microsoft SSIS.
  • Solid understanding of database principles, SQL programming, data modeling techniques, and data integration methodologies.
  • Ability to gather and interpret business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and robust data solutions.
  • Experience with data analysis and the ability to identify and solve complex data-related issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on developing efficient and scalable ETL processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across teams and with non-technical stakeholders.
