Our dynamic and innovative engineering firm is seeking a seasoned Consulting Network Engineer to join our team. This position is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment. As a Consulting Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure systems for our diverse clientele. You will be the go-to expert for all network-related challenges and will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our clients' network systems.

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Network Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Designing and implementing new network solutions and improving the efficiency of current networks.
2. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP.
3. Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
4. Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
5. Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
6. Arranging scheduled upgrades and investigating faults in the network.
7. Analyzing, troubleshooting, and correcting network problems remotely and on-site.
8. Maintaining a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking (LAN) and Wide Area Networking (WAN).
9. Liaising with customers, offering technical support and professional advice on networking issues.
10. Conducting regular network performance tests.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a network engineering or similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of networking technologies, network hardware, protocols, and services.
4. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
5. Strong, hands-on experience with diagnostic, network analytics, and network optimization tools.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts, both to customers and to team members.
8. Strong customer service ethos and a proactive approach.
9. Relevant professional certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, etc.) are highly desirable.
10. Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
