Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for a Finance Data Analyst (Data Validation & Data Quality) to join the Global Finance Transformation & Strategy team! This person will play a meaningful role in providing financial data analysis and validation to support crucial decisions in performance managing a broad portfolio. This person will be a self-starter who is proactive and continually motivated to learn what drives the business forward. Finance employees play a key role in that progress by identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to drive value for every Nike shareholder. They manage accounting and reporting for our multi-billion-dollar global investment portfolio, debt and equity instruments, and other Treasury activities. They strategize, forecast, audit, analyze, budget, research and lead important decisions.

What You Will Work On
In this role, you will report to the Director of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM). You will work closely with Finance Leads and Analysts in support of long-range planning deliverables.
Project: Finance Transformation EPM project to globally centralize and organize Nike financial planning and forecasting system through new cloud-based software (Anaplan)
Lead to the accomplishment of key goals across consumer and commercial analytics functions.
Work with key stakeholders to understand requirements, develop sustainable data solutions, and provide insights and recommendations.
Document and communicate systems and analytics changes to the business, translating complex functionality into business relevant language.
Validate key performance indicators and build queries to quantitatively measure business performance.
Communicate with cross-functional teams to understand the business cause of data anomalies and outliers.
Develop data governance standards from data ingestion to product dictionaries and documentation.
Develop SQL queries to fulfill ad-hoc analysis requests and ongoing reporting needs leveraging standard query syntax.
Organize and transform information into comprehensible structures.
Use data to predict trends and perform statistical analysis.
Use data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns.
Monitor data quality and remove corrupt data.
Evaluate and utilize new technologies, tools, and frameworks centered around high-volume data processing.
Improve existing processes through automation and efficient workflows.
Build and deliver scalable data and analytics solutions.
Work independently and take initiative to identify, explore and solve problems.
Design and build innovative data and analytics solutions to support key decisions.
Support standard methodologies in reporting and analysis, such as, data integrity, unit testing, data quality control, system integration testing, modeling, validation, and documentation.
Financial analysis and executive presentation support as necessary
Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers.
Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge.
Creates reports for management/leadership on business performance and develops metrics to measure various characteristics of the business.
Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions

Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with 8-9 years of overall professional work experience
Minimum 2 years experience in corporate financial planning and analysis, public accounting, investment banking, and/or consulting
Sophisticated level proficiency using SQL and Microsoft Office Excel
Proven ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis for variances in financial reports, and definite corrective action plans to avoid reoccurrence
Proven understanding of data profiling, financial data analysis, budgeting, financial modeling, and reporting
Strong process improvement, attention to detail and analytical skills. Investigative personality.
Nice to have: knowledge of ETL processes (this is not an integration developer position, but the analyst should have a general understanding of ETL and its potential for introducing data discrepancies in reports)
Nice to have: proficiency in data governance/MDM principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate in a simple manner across management levels and cross-functional teams
Ability to escalate issues when a discrepancy is identified, and suggest appropriate solution(s)
Systems used: Snowflake, Cognos. Anaplan experience is preferred

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00
