The GCD Forecasting Lead is responsible for all aspects of forecasting for pipeline programs across all five global Allergan Aesthetics franchises: neurotoxins, fillers, plastic & regenerative medicine, body contouring, and skincare. The individual will lead a team to develop and deliver robust forecasts to support strategic decision making and long-term planning for the global aesthetics business.
The GCD Forecasting Lead will leverage strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to lead the team to develop the optimal forecasting approach that delivers the appropriate level of rigor for different forecasting needs. They will be responsible for forecasts that will be used to evaluate funding of new pipeline programs, strategic trade-off and stage gate evaluations, product positioning decisions, and long-range business planning. The individual will take lead responsibility for all pipeline components of the annual financial long-range planning process.
They will be required to leverage their understanding of the global market landscape and analytic problem solving to guide the team in shaping data requirements and market research needs, then combining disparate data sources to drive to conclusions. This individual will look across franchises to provide strategic oversight, ensure a consistent forecasting approach and identify interdependencies, such as consumer share of wallet.
The role demands strong leadership and close collaboration with global, cross-functional colleagues, including Finance, Market Research, R&D, Operations, US and International Consumer and Customer Marketing, and Area and Affiliate level delivery teams.
- Acts as the accountable owner of global aesthetics pipeline forecasting
- Builds and leads a high-performing team to define required insights, combine data sources, and deliver robust forecasts
- Lead key forecasting processes, including the financial long range planning for pipeline products; working cross-functionally to optimize processes for efficiency and impact
- Support the team to employ appropriate modelling techniques to meet the business need with an appropriate level of rigour against the speed of response required
- Quality control forecasting work undertaken by the team and third party partners, ensuring all deliverables have sound accuracy and well understood methodology
- Ensures strong cross functional and leadership alignment on pipeline forecasts
- Develops close working relationship with leaders across GCD, finance, marketing, market research, R&D, and operations
- Navigates competing priorities to optimize workload across the team
- Maintains sound understanding of competitor insights and associated forecasting impacts for the Allergan Aesthetics portfolio
- Owns budget and proactively partners with Finance to ensure timely review of and management of financial resources
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (e.g., travel):
Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnight stays
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Exceptional analytic thinking, with a proven ability to develop robust forecasts across complex portfolios
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to consider interdependencies and draw together disparate information sources
- Able to pivot between high-level, top-down forecasting approach and detailed bottoms up forecasts to deliver the appropriate level of rigour for different forecasting needs
- Proven track record integrating market data and manipulating large, complex multiple sources to support business decisions
- Extensive experience in using a variety of mainstream secondary data sources
- Demonstrated track record of leading a diverse team through a compelling shared vision, nurturing and developing key talent
- Proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally, leveraging strong interpersonal skills to successfully driven consensus in a matrixed organization
- Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills; proven ability to interact directly with and influence Senior Management, communicating complex forecasts in an easily understandable way
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree within a relevant course of study
- MBA, PhD, or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceuticals or medical devices, with experience in medical aesthetics strongly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years people leadership experience
- Global experience preferred
- Experienced and comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
