We are currently seeking Software Safety Engineers for our team in Huntsville, AL.
The successful candidate with be responsible for the following:
- Conducts software system safety evaluations for DoD systems
- Supports software system requirements identification and development process by evaluating and assessing planning, design, development, production and operations for DoD software systems architectures
- Prepares and writes formal Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Reports to categorize and summarize all potential software-hardware interaction hazards
- Performs software safety-critical and mission-critical systems analysis throughout the life cycle from initial requirements through design, implementation, testing, delivery, and support
- Utilizes excellent written and oral communication skills to maintain successful daily interaction with customer and teammates
- Operates proactively with ability to handle significant responsibility, and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
- ABET accredited STEM BS
- Experience developing embedded mission critical software in C, C++, or ADA
- Familiarity with software development/lifecycle IEEE 12207, MIL-STD-498
- Experience with Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and/or Failure Mode, Effects & Critically Analysis (FMECA)
- Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-516, DO-178, MIL-STD-882, JSSSEH, AMCOM Regulation 385-17, SAE ARP 4761, or similar software safety standards
- Knowledge of the integration and verification of large systems
- Active Secret Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of static and dynamic code analysis
- Experience with Model Based Software Development
- Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink, Rhapsody, DOORS, SCADE, etc.
