Location: CA (100% REMOTE)

Duration: 6+ months contract

Rate: $DOE/hr negotiable

Job Description:

The Data Scientist will be responsible for leveraging mathematical optimization, simulation, AI/ML modeling to improve supply chain operations and decision-making processes.

This role involves utilizing mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and data-driven insights to optimize inventory management, demand forecasting, network optimization, replenishment and logistics planning.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and implement OR (LP/MILP/IP) models and methodologies to solve complex supply chain problems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities in supply chain and perform data analysis, gather relevant information to develop mathematical models, algorithms, and simulation tools.
  • Apply optimization methods, statistical techniques, and AI/ML models to generate actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain decision support systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate OR models and tools into existing systems and ensure their seamless implementation.
  • Present research findings and insights to stakeholders, including senior management, in a clear and concise manner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, optimize resource allocation, and enhance operational efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong knowledge of mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, simulation methodologies, and AI/ML models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Expertise in applying OR techniques to complex business problems, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.

Additonal Comments From The Hiring Manager

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of involving in cross-functional projects, delivering high-quality results within specified timeframes.
  • Experience with database management systems, cloud computing, data mining, and ML algorithms is a plus.

MS/PHD degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
