This is a hands-on, technical role where you'll contribute to the cutting edge of quantum systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize low-noise, low-tempo analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, voltage regulators, and PID controllers.
- Develop RF and microwave systems, including synthesizers, PLLs, and impedance-matched front-ends (3-4 GHz).
- Perform PCB layout for high-frequency, low-noise, and mixed-signal circuits.
- Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate electronics with optics, vacuum, and quantum systems.
- Prototype, test, and iterate using tools like oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and Allan deviation analyzers.
- Support EMI/EMC qualification for defense/aerospace standards.
Key Requirements
- Analog & Mixed-Signal Electronics: Expertise in low-noise analog design, signal conditioning, and PID loop design.
- RF & Microwave Systems: Experience designing oscillators, synthesizers (3-5 GHz), and impedance-matched RF circuits.
- PCB Design: Proficiency in high-frequency PCB layout (Altium, KiCad) for mixed-signal and low-noise circuits.
- Testing & Debugging: Hands-on experience with tools like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and Allan deviation analyzers.
- System Integration: Ability to co-design electronics with photonics/optical systems and integrate with quantum systems.
- Simulation & Automation: Familiarity with SPICE and RF simulation tools (LTspice, ADS, HFSS), and automation with Python.
- Power Regulation: Experience with precision power regulation and current drivers, especially for laser diodes.
- Standards Compliance: Experience with EMI/EMC mitigation and qualification for defense or aerospace applications (MIL-STD).
- Version Control: Proficiency in using Git/Gitlab for version control in a collaborative environment.
