We re seeking a hands-on MongoDB Expert to own all MongoDB-related tasks for our security-focused startup. You ll design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure MongoDB databases to support mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities

• Database Design & Development:
• Build and optimize MongoDB schemas, queries, and indexes for high-performance applications.
• Manage collections for structured and unstructured data.
• Administration & Maintenance:
• Configure and maintain MongoDB clusters (self-managed or Atlas) on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Ensure high availability with replication, sharding, and failover.
• Security & Compliance:
• Implement MongoDB security features (RBAC, encryption, auditing) and ensure compliance (SOC 2, GDPR).
• Conduct security audits to protect sensitive data.
• Performance Optimization:
• Tune queries and scale deployments to handle high-throughput workloads.
• Monitor and resolve performance issues using MongoDB tools.
• Collaboration:
• Partner with engineering and security teams to integrate MongoDB solutions.
• Document processes and share best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on MongoDB experience in production environments.
• Expertise in MongoDB schema design, querying, replication, sharding, and security.
• Strong knowledge of database security and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and MongoDB Atlas.
• Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for a fast-paced startup.

Preferred Qualifications

• MongoDB certifications .
• Experience with other NoSQL databases or cybersecurity applications.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
