The Space and Intelligence Sector is seeking an Expert-level (18+ years) Systems Engineer/Deputy Lead Engineer to work within our dynamic Sensor Integration team in either Springfield or Chantilly VA. The Sensor Integration team supports the Government by providing systems engineering and integration support for NGA's Sensor Integration (TIS) Office. This team provides strategic and solutions-level systems engineering support for the integration of new sensor capabilities into the Enterprise architecture.
The Deputy Lead Engineer (DLE) will support as the head of engineering activities, responsible for indirectly overseeing other engineering managers, senior engineers and/or operations managers as they develop system solutions. The duties of the DLE include but are not limited to the following:

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

- Determines the "How" of the solution.
- Delegates tasking to engineering teams to further develop the solution.
- Directs technical execution for requirements systems engineering, design, integration and test.
- Leads engineering teams in taking a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, reliability, resiliency,, integration, test and evaluation, and maintainability.
- Provides oversight and assists with the planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architectures traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems.
- Provides oversight and assists the Government in the capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
- Provides oversight and assists the Government in performing systems integration activities.
- Provides technical leadership for engineers.
- Makes program risks assessments and provides actionable recommendations to the lead engineer and program manager.
- Understands, informs and supports the the platform strategy.
- Ensures quality products: Lead engineers and DLEs to ensure the technical quality of engineering projects and products, and to meet or exceed standards.
- Provides mentorship and development to junior engineers and other technical personnel.
- Provides backup support for the Lead Engineer.
Qualifications

Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or related STEM degree program, or related equivalent additional experience of 4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree.
- 18+ years of experience working in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or systems engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture environments residing in cloud, on premise, or hybrid infrastructures.
- Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience supporting NGA or NRO in an engineering capacity.
- TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.
Highly Desired:
- Experience with Sensor programs or segments that develop for them.
- Experience with Cloud solutions and data architecture development.
