Senior Node Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Atlanta, GA that is seeking a partially remote Senior Node Developer to join their team. As part of this initiative, they will work with a dynamic team, under the mentorship of the principal lead to deliver scalable web services and microservices.

Summary:
The Senior Node Developer will contribute to the transition of large sections of the company to Node.js and Nest.js, collaborating with various teams to implement brand-new code from scratch. Day-to-day work will involve leveraging expertise in TypeScript, Node, Nest.js, and Express to build high-performance services and APIs that support our digital experience platform.

Responsibilities:
* Write new, high-quality code from scratch for the MDDP Digital Experience platform, with a focus on Node.js and Nest.js
* Participate in scenario-based interviews and technical assessments, demonstrating strong understanding of REST, APIs, and microservices
* Review and implement Swagger API specifications/contracts, turning them into functional code and ensuring seamless integration with existing services
* Work with the domain systems team to offload thinking work from the digital experience API, improving system efficiency
* Create and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices, with an emphasis on performance and scalability
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven widgets into our platform, ensuring smooth transitions and consistent user experiences
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing codebases and new feature implementations
* Leverage AI technologies, as authorized by the Inspire brands, to optimize the development process

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js
* 1+ years of experience with Nest.js (training will be provided if needed)
* Strong knowledge and experience in TypeScript and Express as a web server
* Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and web services
* Experience working with Swagger API specifications/contract, including defining endpoints and handling API calls
* Ability to write brand-new code from scratch and work with legacy systems to evaluate and improve codebases
* Solid experience working with controllers, services, and endpoint names in Node.js applications
* Experience in building and maintaining scalable applications
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the restaurant or retail domain (nice to have but not required)
* Familiarity with microservices architecture and integrating APIs within large-scale systems
* Experience in performance optimization and API response time improvements

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
