Job Details

Administration of databases throughout the development and production lifecycles.
Creation and execution of DDL/DCL for managing DB2 databases.
Maintenance procedures using DB2 Utilities (COPY, REORG, MODIFY, RECOVER)
Conduct performance monitoring and tuning activities on DB2 databases.
Reviewing and maintaining security procedures across the DB2 databases.
Work with DB2 z/OS System support staff on installation/upgrade efforts.
Provide mentorship to group members and help develop and support junior level staff.
Provide advice and support to development resources.
24x7 on-call support rotation.
Application of database changes during non-peak hours as required by applications.
Other duties as directed by management
Required Skills:
5 years mainframe IMS experience (on-line and Batch) from a system and application perspective.
Experience with BMC Mainview for IMS.
Experience with Delta IMS.
Experience with HALDB and fast path database.
5 years mainframe DB2 DBA expertise including experience with DB2 11.
Strong knowledge of SQL and SQL coding for performance on DB2 z/OS.
Experience with basic Explain tool for SQL and understanding of DB2 access paths.
Strong knowledge of DB2 Utilities and JCL.
Experience with BMC DB2 tools.
Experience working in a TSO/ISPF environment.
Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
Willing to work a 24/7 on-call rotation
Availability to provide weekend/off-hours support as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
Mainframe DB2 DBA experience Version 12.
Prior experience in mainframe application development accessing DB2 databases.
Multi Logical Datacenter(LDC) and Logical Partition(LPAR) z/OS environment experience.
DB2 Datasharing environment.
Experience working with REXX, COBOL, Java programming languages.
Experience with QMF.
Experience with TMON for DB2/IMS.
