RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Tampa, FL that is seeking a Network Traffic Optimization Engineer responsible for ensuring optimal performance and efficiency of network traffic within a complex IT infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, traffic analysis tools, and optimization techniques to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. By joining our team as a Network Traffic Optimization Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our network infrastructure.

Responsibilities
* Traffic Analysis: Monitor and analyze network traffic patterns, identifying potential bottlenecks and inefficiencies
* Optimization Techniques: Implement various optimization techniques, such as QoS (Quality of Service), traffic shaping, and congestion control, to improve network performance
* Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance metrics (latency, throughput, packet loss) and identify areas for improvement
* Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network performance issues, including hardware failures, software bugs, and configuration errors
* Capacity Planning: Forecast future network traffic needs and plan for capacity expansions to ensure optimal performance
* Security: Implement security measures to protect the network from threats and ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
* Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
* Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., systems engineers, security analysts) to ensure network optimization aligns with overall IT goals

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* Certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, etc.) are a plus
* 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a related field
* Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
* Experience with network traffic analysis tools (Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP)
* Knowledge of network optimization techniques (QoS, traffic shaping, congestion control)
* Experience with network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:
* Experience with cloud-based networks (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
* Knowledge of SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Function Virtualization)
* Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
