Description

We are seeking a Windows System Administrator to be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems in support of the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) NOC. As our Windows Sys Admin, you will ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the systems they manage meet the needs of the users. The incumbent will also cross-train in Veritas / NetBackup with the goal of serving as Veritas SME for the program.

This position is located in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation for standard systems operating procedures to be used across the enterprise.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Work both independently as well as in coordination with network / systems administrators to maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer system.
  • Once trained, responsible for the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the Veritas Netbackup application across multiple CESO Environments
  • Maintain the appropriate DOD Cyber compliance level as directed by the program Cyber security office via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs.
  • Provide technical input and accomplishing development, deployment and configuration tasks to maintain current operational environment.
  • Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms.
  • Perform periodic disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Maintain backup policies and standards.
  • Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
  • Monitor equipment for backup environment to include servers, and disk storage devices.
  • Manage and execute complex databases backups, particularly in SQL and Oracle environments, to ensure data protection.
  • Create, follow and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of overall related experience with a Windows servers environment (e.g. 2008r2 and 2012r2). Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Current TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain CI Poly in future
  • Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g Security+ce.
  • Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining VMware environments.
  • Experience with Remote Desktop Services; PowerShell scripting; security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS; Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP); Group Policy Management (GPO) and Local Security Policies; Windows Task Scheduler; Active Directory
  • Experience with system (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with DISA and DISA's support to mission partners
  • Active CI Poly
  • Experience in Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with NetBackup
